Before
“Do you offer API access? Yes! Premium subscribers get access to our flexible pay-as-you-go API.”
After
“Do you offer API access? Yes, and you don't need a subscription for it. The API is billed separately from subscription plans, with pay-as-you-go API credit, and the S2.1 Pro Free model can be called without any credit.”
What changed for game devs
Until this month the FAQ tied API access to a Premium subscription. It now says you don't need a subscription for the API: API use is billed separately from subscription plans with pay-as-you-go credit, and the S2.1 Pro Free model can be called without any credit. For a game that generates voice lines from a build script or server, that means you can pay per use without also holding a monthly plan.
The same week, Fish Audio removed the Max plan from the plan page (see the related entry). Free, Plus and Pro subscription prices are unchanged.
The license rules did not change with it. Per our Fish Audio page, paid plans are licensed for commercial use, Free plan output is for personal, non-commercial projects only, and the terms say Usage Data and Content may be used to train Fish Audio's models.
